Design of Shallow and Deep Foundations

Our expertise in deep foundation design covers a wide range of applications, including bridge piers, abutments, jetties, pontoons, and dolphins. We offer tailored foundation systems such as driven steel piles, cast-in-situ socketed piles, and steel-grouted piles.
We also offer shallow foundation recommendations for onshore structures and gravity-type quay walls, including assessments of bearing capacity and settlement. These evaluations ensure that the relevant design criteria are met for the recommended foundation type.
Our advanced design approaches include the limit-state-design-based partial factors approach, and the Load and Resistance Factored (LRFD) design approach, in addition to the classical working stress design (WSD) approach where required. Analysis tools range from in-house spreadsheets based on well-established empirical methods to advanced computer programs such as SETTLE3, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, L-Pile, and GROUP programs.
